University is still an option
IF you’re still considering what you’ll be doing in 2021, university study is an option. Some courses are still open and available for Semester 1.
Applications through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) for study in first semester close at midnight on Friday 5 February 2021 and preferences for the final offer round need to be finalised by Sunday 28 February.
So far, UAC has made over 95,000 offers to domestic undergraduate applicants.
Those applying late need to make sure they are eligible for any courses listed in their preferences. Some courses have special entry requirements, course prerequisites and/or early application closing dates and it may be too late to complete these requirements. It’s also a good idea to check with universities to see where they may still have places available.
UAC General Manager of Marketing and Engagement, Kim Paino, is also encouraging applicants to consider all the options available to them. ‘Most institutions have pathway programs that lead into a Bachelor degree, or you could start with a TAFE qualification or a course at a private college.’
For more information on alternative entry check the institution pages on UAC’s website.
