16 Jan 2025

NOW that most students have received their university offers, the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) has unveiled the list of sought-after courses for 2025.

Leading the list for another year is the Bachelor of Medical Studies/Doctor of Medicine program at UNSW Sydney with 1,607 first preferences.

Business and commerce programs are also highly popular this year. The Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Sydney claimed second place with 1,107 first preferences, narrowly surpassing the Bachelor of Business at the University of Technology Sydney with 1,072 first preferences. Meanwhile, the Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws at the University of Sydney makes a notable debut to the top rankings at fourth place.

Medical courses still dominate however. The Bachelor of Clinical Science/Doctor of Medicine joint program at Western Sydney University/Charles Sturt University takes fifth place, while Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine at the University of Sydney returns to the rankings in eighth place. The Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine program at the University of Newcastle and the University of New England is in ninth place.

The University of Sydney's Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Laws once again make an appearance as does the Bachelor of Laws (double degree program) at UNSW.

As the start of first semester approaches, universities are preparing for the final offer rounds to fill courses that still have vacancies.
