Thousands of students receive early uni offers
MORE than 70,000 hopeful university applicants will find out tomorrow if they have received a December Round 2 offer for study in 2018. UAC’s participating institutions have made 42,043 offers in this new pre-Christmas round.
Applicants will be able to log in to UAC’s website or My UAC at 7.30am on Thursday 21 December to view their offers.
UAC General Manager of Marketing and Engagement, Kim Paino said, ‘The pre-Christmas offer round ensures that offers are made to as many students as possible and as soon as possible, so students don’t have an agonising wait to find out if they’ve got into a course.’
Ms Paino said, ‘Even with this large number of offers, unfortunately not everyone will be happy. But for anyone who has missed out on an offer, or missed out on their favourite course, don’t be disheartened.’
‘There are several more offer rounds after tomorrow, and applicants have until midnight on Wednesday 3 January to change preferences to be included in the next offer round on Friday 12 January. And if you haven’t applied yet it’s not too late – applications for study in semester 1 are open until 5 February. Just check UAC’s website for more information.’
When the December Round 2 offers are released, UAC will also release the cut-offs for entry into each course. It’s important for applicants to remember that cut-offs are not ATARs, as they include bonus points, and that many students are admitted under schemes that consider factors other than the ATAR.
Further information is available on UAC’s website.
