Thousands of Year 12s ace their university applications

TENS of thousands of proactive HSC students have already taken a big step toward their futures, submitting their university applications well before their final exams, according to the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC).

So far, more than 41,500 Year 12 students from NSW and the ACT have applied through UAC for tertiary studies starting in 2025. And they’re not the only ones planning ahead — more than 17,600 non-Year 12 applicants have also put their names in the mix for a wide range of courses.

Many students have also doubled their chances of securing a spot by applying directly to individual universities as well. UAC has processed another 100,500^ applications on behalf of universities# for students across all categories, including postgraduate and non-Year 12 applicants.

Kim Paino, Acting Managing Director, said: ‘It's fantastic to see so many Year 12 students already planning for their future through UAC. Now they can focus fully on acing their exams.’
